🎬 Pithoragarh, Get Ready… For the First Time, the Celebration of Uttarakhandi Cinema Is Coming to Your City!
It gives me immense joy and pride that the first Uttarakhand Film Festival is going to begin from my karmabhoomi, my own Pithoragarh, on 1 and 2 December 2026.
Friends in Pithoragarh, get ready! This is not just an opportunity to watch films; it is also a gateway to new possibilities for our local artists, young people, students, and everyone interested in filmmaking.
Master classes by experienced film industry professionals, panel discussions, and free screenings of Hindi films based on Garhwali, Kumaoni, Jaunsari, and other stories from Uttarakhand will make this festival truly special.
And one more thing… you no longer need to go to Mumbai to learn acting, direction, writing, or filmmaking!
The mobile phone in your hand is a camera, an editing studio, and a medium to reach the world. What you need is passion, proper guidance, and faith in your talent.
I am also happy to share that I have submitted some of my documentaries to this festival. These include ‘Adi Kailash – A Forgotten Path to the Divine,’ dedicated to the spiritual heritage of our Pithoragarh, and ‘Brazil in Banaras – The Bhairab Dutt Story,’ the inspiring story of Bhairab Da, Pithoragarh’s football-loving pride.
Let’s see—if they are selected, watching both these films on the big screen with the people of my own city will be an unforgettable experience!
